Softwares Used

HarranCFD performs all engineering design and calculations with fully open source free softwareS as effective as its counterparts. One of the Group's primary objectives is to expand the use of open-source free software in the industry and to save companies from the costs they have paid for the software development process. In line with this target, companies will be given trainings on the software used by the group. The software used by the Harran CFD group for engineering design and calculations:

OpenFOAM is a free, open source CFD software released and developed primarily by OpenCFD Ltd since 2004. It has a wide user base in most fields of engineering and science, from both commercial and academic organizations. OpenFOAM has a wide range of features to solve everything from complex fluid flows such as chemical reactions, turbulence and heat transfer to acoustics, solid mechanics and electromagnetics.

FreeCAD is an open source parametric 3D modeler designed primarily to design real-life objects of any size. Parametric modeling allows you to easily change your design by going back to your model history and changing its parameters. FreeCAD allows you to draw geometric constrained 2D shapes and use them as the basis for creating other objects.

SALOME is open source software that provides a generic Pre- and Post-Processing platform for digital rendering. It is based on a flexible architecture that was created before rebuilding. SALOME is a stand-alone application for CAD model design, planning for numerical calculations and processing of calculation results.

ParaView is an open source multi-platform application for interactive, scientific visualization. It has a client-server architecture to facilitate the visualization of data sets remotely and creates the level of detail patterns to maintain interactive frame rates for large data sets.
